This notice is for MaksIT.LTO.Backup (LTO Backup), a desktop LTO tape backup and restore toolkit.

Data the app processes

Console, UI, and worker run on your machine: source and destination paths; files written to tape or the emulator; settings.json under %AppData%\MaksIT\LTO Backup\; the descriptor key in secret.txt or LTO_BACKUP_SECRET; SMB credentials if you configure them; local logs.

MaksIT does not receive tape contents or backup files. The app does not require a MaksIT account.

Why (legal bases)

You run the program for your own administration (your instructions / Art. 6(1)(b) where you are controller of that data). MaksIT is not the controller of files on the tape.

Support email we receive is processed under Art. 6(1)(b) or (f).

Connections

SMB reaches the shares you name. There is no MaksIT service that receives the backups.

Your rights

Delete settings, keys, emulated tapes, and the application on the device. For correspondence with MaksIT: privacy@maks-it.com. Complaint: Italian Data Protection Authority.
